Mission Trails Regional Park
Mission Trails offers a wide variety of trails and tons of miles to conquer. The trails are well groomed and feature all sorts of terrain. One can find streams, sweeping meadow valleys, and towering peaks.
Lake Hodges
This trail system is located just south of Escondido and allows you to ride along the beautiful shorelines of Lake Hodges. This lake, made possible by a damn, offers expansive vistas with plenty of trail mileage both east and west of Interstate 15. Depending on where you ride the trails can be great for beginners and also offer some grueling and fun challenges for more advanced riders.
Los Penasquitos Canyon
Don't let this peaceful, meandering valley fool you, there are plenty of hidden marvels and fun spots to ride through out this expansive terrain. Most of the trails are well groomed, used, and even maintained. This is a great place for beginners and definitely a spot to put on some serious miles as well.
Sweetwater River Trail
Some may call this great location Steel Bridge in reference to the steel bridge directly at the trail head. Most days you will find this trail a nice escape mostly quiet, all but for the sounds of nature. Extensive trails sprawl out and give the rider many options for exploring this great wilderness on the eastern edge of San Diego.
